Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT DOES "PLANTBASEDCBD" MEAN?
Plant-Based CBD" refers to cannabidiol (CBD) that is derived from the cannabis or hemp plant, as opposed to synthetic CBD, which is produced in a laboratory.
Yes, synthetic CBD (cannabidiol) is real. It is chemically identical to naturally derived CBD, but instead of being extracted from hemp or cannabis plants, synthetic CBD is produced in a lab using chemical processes.
Plant-based CBD is extracted from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the hemp plant.
WHAT IS CBD?
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a non-intoxicating component of the Hemp plant with enormous therapeutic potential. Researchers are currently studying the effects of CBD on a wide range of conditions.
HOW DOES CBD INTERACT WITH THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM? AND WHAT IS AN ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM ANYWAY?
The Endocannabinoid system is a major part of our neuro-immune-endocrine network. This is the system of organ and tissue signaling in the human body that sends and receives chemical messages and affects many aspects of human health including mood, pain, inflammation, stress response, and immune function.
Our bodies produce their own cannabinoids called Endocannabinoids, primarily Anandamide and 2-AG. A Phytocannabinoid, or plant-derived cannabinoids like CBD or THC can activate the same receptors in the body and have similar or stronger effects than our own Endocannabinoids.
We know the very specific receptors that THC activates in the body, primarily CB1 and CB2 receptors in the brain, but we are still learning all the different receptors CBD interact with. One research article estimated CBD may interact with 65 different receptors in the human body, leading scientist to refer to CBD as a promiscuous compound.
IS CBD SAFE? AND WILL CBD INFLUENCE THE RESULTS OF A DRUG TEST?
CBD exhibits no effects on humans indicative of any abuse or dependence potential. To date, there is no evidence of recreational use of CBD or any public health-related problems associated with the use of pure CBD. Chronic use or high dosages up to 1,500mg/day of CBD are reportedly well tolerated in humans.
Most drug tests screen for THC, not CBD. However, Full-Spectrum hemp products may contain trace amounts of THC, so could cause a positive result when screening urine or blood specimens especially when taken at high doses.
WHAT DOES GMP MEAN AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
There's nothing more important in a company than quality control. GMP stands for Good Manufacuring Practice. This is a system that makes sure your products are being controlled and produced to the proper quality standards.
This is especially important in something being consumed by a customer, such as a pharmaceutical product, dietary supplement, or CBD product. Being GMP certified proves to your customers that you are committed to the highest level of quality and prioritize maintaining the highest quality practices to protect you.
